Thank you for your patience as we moved through Phase 1 of our Restart Program in Warrior Country. On June 22nd, we will begin Phase 2 of our Restart Plan. This allows us to have 10 individuals (9 players + 1 Coach) indoors and 50 people outdoors.

Below are the list of precautions and actions that we will be taking and enforcing throughout our return to play. Our coaches, maintenance staff, and school personnel will be highly prepared and will work diligently to keep equipment and buildings clean and safe.


  1. Parents/Guardians MUST make sure your Final Forms account has been updated for the 2020-21 school year.  All Forms must be signed, and your student must be registered in their sports team.   2. An additional COVID-19 waiver has been added into Final Forms called “Responsible Restart Program Consent and Release Form.” Please log back in to sign. THIS MUST BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO START OF WORKOUTS.
  3. Physicals… Our mass physical day has been cancelled. Physicals must be completed on your own at your primary care physicians office. Please print off the OHSAA Physical form off your final forms account or here if a blank is needed (PPE_2020-21 )

Edgewood High School Covid-19 Summer Workout Guidelines:

  • The plan is to start with:  Please note:…. These are not concrete dates as it all depends on if we have no cases or there are new guidelines from the Ohio Dept. of Health and/or Ashtabula County Department of Health are introduced.
    • Phase 1: June 8th (Schedules being developed by our staff). (No use of balls- OUTDOOR ONLY– Conditioning only) .Limits of 10 people (9 athletes plus 1 Coach) in one “pod” scattered around the grounds at Edgewood High School.
    • Phase 2: June 22nd (Indoor and Outdoor Available – Sport Specific equipment Available for use). No more than 10 people indoors, 50 people may gather outdoors.
    • Phase 3: July 6th (Indoor and Outdoor Available)

  • During Phase 1 and 2, Keep athletes in designated groups or time slots through the phase as that way it is much easier to track if we have an issue.
  • All participants must adhere to 6 feet physical distancing and wear face coverings when not participating (recommended).
  • These workouts are for grades 9-12 starting the month of June (3 days a week) and then if allowed, we will consider opening up in early July for junior high athletes (Phases 2 or 3).
  • Athletes and Coaches will wear masks based on ODH recommendations.
  • Pre-Workout Screening (Temp. Check) will be conducted by coaches and athletes before workouts begin. Anyone experiencing symptoms must stay home. (Symptoms include coughing, shortness of breath or difficulty of breathing, fever chills, muscle pain, sore throat, and new loss of taste or smell.) 
  • Spray disinfectant will be provided for indoor (stored in trainers office) and outside (stored in locker in baseball press-box) that must be used according to guidelines.
  • Sanitation Report and COVID-19 Athlete/Coach Monitoring Forms and/or Final Forms attendance mode will be properly recorded and placed in file outside the Athletic Director’s door at the conclusion of every workout so we can have for our records.
  • Entry and exit will be marked on the doors of the building to allow for a one way in and a one way out to ensure no cross contamination between athletes and coaches.
  • NO LOCKER ROOMS will be available during Phase 1 or Phase 2. Locker rooms will be off-limits for any changing or showering. Encourage athletes to come to each workout fully dressed.
  • Restrooms that will be used for indoors will be the restrooms used for lunches (near the Auditorium). Restrooms outside will be the outside portable restrooms. These are for emergency usage only.
  • Use of the drinking fountain is strictly prohibited. Drinking fountains will be shut off at this time. Please bring your own water bottles.
  • There will be no congregating during workouts or after workouts on school grounds. This will be monitored by coaches/supervisors. Parking lot will be spaced accordingly (every other spot)
  • No spitting or chewing gum or any other similar products.
  • Participants are to travel to the venue alone or with other members of their immediate family.
  • No parents or spectators are allowed at skill workouts.
  • Coaches will allot at least 15 minutes between groups and please stress athletes must come and leave on time.

    • Weight Room – – – Once we hit Phase 2 Tentatively scheduled for June 22nd.
    • Racks in weight room are spaced 6 feet in between each rack with a total of 8 stations. Each athlete would have their own station with their own weights, bar, bench, and all other equipment needed for each workout. There will be no need to share equipment.
